Little School Help :]
Hey guys,
New here, and looking forward to learning. I go to ITT Tech and I love it, I love learning everything I possibly can about computers.
Anyways, I do have a question right :o. In my school we just got Wifi. I know right, I'm paying about $40,000 and they just put in Wifi heh. So they just put it in, but we have one problem.
They blocked all the P2P networking, and instant messengers. I can't use BT, Limewire, Trillian, etc.
I'm not asking to just tell me straight forward, because that wouldn't challenge me. I'd like to have my first little project. It's probably something really easy and right under my nose, but if someone can just point me to a starting point or give me a hint or two that would be greatly appreciated.
Looking forward to being in this community and earning my spot here. Thanks again guys :P

wow, even bittorrent? If you run across any blocked websites, I came across this little gem on digg: http://www.virtual-browser.com/
For getting your p2p apps to work, I found the following article: http://www.p2pnet.net/article/8156
Let us know if this works.

Awesome Reno. Thanks, I took some of your advice and looked up "HTTP TUNNEL"
There is a program that will help. From what I saw so far it is just for websites. The site also has tutorials and even a couple videos on how to make sure you are behind a HTTP proxy and how to make sure you are behind a firewall or transparent proxy.
I used this site to get my Trillian to work and I'm very happy. There are help for bittorrent and other p2p clients. Don't seem to have Limewire but that's ok. I'll figure that out.
Thanks again Reno for pointing me in the right direction. Thanks :]

Definetly keep ITT in mind. I think it is very helpful. All of the professors are right there with you, and all of the classes are really small.
We also do a lot of hands on work. The classes are about 5hrs long, 3 days a week. 3 hours of theory and 2hrs of lab each class.
Thanks for the "Tor" willyham. I am going to download that. Thanks again!

That's awesome! I'm only in my 1st year but it has to feel good to be finnished.
It's getting really hard now. I am actually in class right now and a huge project just landed in my lap. Tell him congrats :]
I am majoring in "Computer Networking Systems," but I am going to take some "Web Design" and "Multimedia" classes. That's what I like about it here, there is so much for you. ;]
